@ aravot : nice to see you on here, I'm so happy to see virtuemart finally developing more, wish i was technically minded enough to be able to offer help with the project. @steve : One thing I have noticed with the jfusion mod on alledia is that when there is a forum post and it emails me, the link always takes me to the front page. it should take you to the post... tell you to login and then redirect to the post you were viewing. Minor bug I spose but its still annoying!

Magento is a very powerful shopping cart but is not for beginners, I couldn’t install the current stable version 1.3.2.4, search their forum many users had the same issue but no official respond so I created a new topic I was told by a user to get a proper hosting, I am with dreamhost and have had no problem installing other shopping carts, tried the new 1.4 RC version was able to install it but found every change requires code tweaking example I wanted to remove compare and wish list options but found no enable/disable option had to remove it from the code, Magento Enterprise looks good but $8000 is too much for me. Instead try Prestashop (http://www.prestashop.com/), easy to use (Joomla like publish/unpublish options) and powerful too and I read someone is working on a Presta + Joomla bridge. However don’t give up on VirtueMart, 2010 will be our year http://www.alledia.com/blog/e-commerce/virtuemart-15-underway-new-team-members-needed/

Hi Imran. No, I guess the presenter just missed it. I know him well and he has no axe to grind. We use JFusion here on Alledia and have never had any issues with it.

Hey Steve Any specific reasons why JFusion, a definite leader in Magento-Joomla! integration was kept out of the entire test and analysis? J!Mint was knocked around and its problems have been documented well. Possible sabotage? :P Cheers Imran

Sorry I misread... Virtuemart, is a good system, you may need to work out a few kinks but I use it on a site that gets a lot of hits... the thing with Vm is that there is soooo many extensions available for it. couple it with CSVI and you have a very powerful system.

We've been looking for a reliable cart to use in conjunction with Joomla for some time now. VIrtueMart and iJoomla DIgistore both had serious issues, so maybe we'll give Magento a shot. Even if it's somewhat complex, if it's reliable and we can count on decent support then it coul dbe the ticket. Great presentation.
