Just a point of clarification... Redmystic only requires the module for feed automation. Also you can publish to any location you wish so you don't have to have it plastered all over your site. Thanks for the write up. Cheers, Garry

I'm sorry that you have had problems with hackers they really are the scourge of the internet. I'm not knocking your product. I'm sure its great, but I tried it and moved onto a different system. Unfortunately my system is so modified from the norm now that I could not really look at switching again. If you read the tutorial that I posted you can see that CSVImproved will also allow you to post custom fields to the google base feed from virtuemart. So as good as it maybe, its not unique in its capabilities. To be honest I have totally given up with google base now as they kicked my feed time after time because of certain rules and regulations. Many of which are not relevant to this discussion as it has to do with the information in the feed rather than the mean in which it is delivered.

We were hacked into on Christmas day at midnight by a Turkish Muslim extremist group who found a flaw in Cpanel, Cpanel where aware of this but hadn't released a fix, so until they did, we left the server turned off. Red Mystic is a very simple plugin that doesn't do anywhere near what the JGB extension does. The component we developed fields to virtuemart products, so every attribute Google asks for is sent to google base. The fields we add that no other Google Base Component does is - ISBN (bar code on books as used in Amazon) MPN (Manufacturers part number) UPC, (Unique Product Code, (bar code)), Expiration Date Model Number Payment Notes Price Type Size Year of manufacture Shipping Price Tax Rate This can not be done any other way and allows people to find your products, such as a "Black Canon 5D" or "Red Jumper size 16" The only ticket i ever had from "David Lawson", was on the 29th of July 2009 "I cannot get the plugin to run at all. It just won't produce the XML files at all." I replied with a request for admin access so i could have a look if it was installed correctly and i received this reply "I switched to red mystic" In what way can i support you on this if this is what you reply with? We have over 2000 clients at last count, and if there was any issues the Joomla forums would be full of annoyed clients, I even have my mobile phone number on the contact page for support, what else can I offer?
Thanks David. Have a Jewellers who are keen to get their items seen on Google Products. This is a great start. I'm a little concerned on how much competition there will be for "18 carrot gold ring" but I suppose we are going to have to use some imagination with the description. Great post.

@capewellmj I'm not saying joomlagooglebas e does not work. It just did not work for the volume of products that I needed to export. I did raise a ticket but it took a week to get a response and a further week to get action after my initial reply. In the end I gave up with it and tried Red Mystic, Which served all my needs very well until I got over 11k products. Now I split the file down into 9 Separate XML files with around 1500 products on each, which is easy to do with CSVI. I would take a look at the Cube SEF feed but its $29 and I am satisfied with a free copy of CSVI which more than serves my needs.
