I think your a moron who doesn't know what he's talking about. Especially when you make remarks about beginner level Joomla users. First of all, the tools menu was very useful and is now found under site maintenance. Also, the parameters are still there they are just in new JPanes with different titles which can easily be over ridden in a Joomla admin template by adding a parameter to the layout view. Third of all don't pick on people who are new to Joomla because from what it sounds you are a beginner yourself. You might know where the links are and what the parameters mean, but you certainly don't know anything else beyond that. Shame on you for talking bad about new users to Joomla.

Great post! I am particularly fond of the backend admin improvements. I have built almost a hundred joomla sites and know how much time could be saved when adding menu items, modules, setting permissions, etc. The coolest feature I found in my own preview of the latest alpha was the ability to edit modules right on the menu item page. That will have some pretty earth-shattering effects on how joomla sites are managed and bring the learning curve down. Check out this post on my blog where I discuss 1.6: http://jomdoc.com/joomla-administration-blogs/joomla-one-point-six-administration-improvements Thanks for the preview!

Some changes were necessary, recently I just had to explain so much stuff which the guy won't use ever ever... These changes will make Joomla easier for the user - that's a good improvement. Hope they keep on developing to make it stronger and stronger :-)
