Hi there, please, how about JomSocial and SEO/SEF? It works okay? Was the best set up for it? Google is indexing all the users name, and I would like to remove it. Thank you very much!

I haven't tried JomSocial yet, but I do use MyBlog and JomComment. And I have to agree that support has historically been pitiful, but as EOLGeorge mentioned, Mark has started taking care of tickets and is GREAT. Very responsive and patient with some of my stupid questions.

I've been using JS for about the last month and generally like it very much. However there are some real issues with support and documentation. Documentation is minimal at best. Its a fairly complex component and the existing materials barely scratch the surface. Support is spotty and slow. For the most part they work bankers hours, 9 to 5 with weekends and holidays off. They are located in Malaysia and since I'm in the US there is a 12 hour time difference resulting in a minimum of a days delays in response to a question. If you ask on a Friday forget about an answer until Monday or Tuesday. Then add in the fact that the primarily support through their forum, and they are selective about what they answer, AND the answers are often to "search the forums" it can get frustrating. FYI when you do search the forums the first pages of responses are often "search the forums" If they put as much time into creating a comprehensive FAQ as replying search the forums it would save all a lot of time. When you do get a response it is often very good, especially if you get a reply from Mark. After all this I must say that it is a very good component, and hopefully worth the time I've spent customizing it it. If they just put some time into a Comprehensive FAQ (available only to paid subscribers) it could be great.

I am not an expert on JomSocial, I went even using it myself for a few months. My understanding of the Facebook facility is that anyone with an account on Facebook can use their login details to access your website if you have JomSocial/Facebook activated. That personal details will automatically be inserted into the JomSocial profile and I believe it will be automatically updated when they update their Facebook account, I think, but I actually hold me to that

Nope, no negative experiences at all with me. they have improved the layout over 1.5, not much, but is noticeably more aesthetically pleasing, if you look at the profile. The only problems I have had is occasionally a few plug-ins do render Internet Explorer page errors, and also sometimes stops the JavaScript running properly. I had one particular problem with the friends location map and the music on profile not working, it turned out to be the poke me plug-in that was the culprit. If all of a sudden you do make this a page error just backtrack and am publish any plug-ins or modules that you installed recently and nine times out of 10 the page arrow will disappear.
