ok, I'm about 18 months late ... I've never used Joomla, so I'm just researching to decide whether or not to use it and the whole seo-issue is very important to me ... so far this sounds good, as in the article on top, but then I read the comments and find stuff like: "Nevertheless, it doesn't sound like any of these will solve the automapping problem" how's Joomla dealing with htese issues now? Has it accepted that it doens't make any sense these days to have any kind of site without SEO and/or social network application build in, or is it still a puzzle? well, never mind ... I'll keep reading your blog :-)

I'm new to Joomla and love it, I'm sick of template systems that don't work and how a non Joomla site become difficult to manage if it gets big. I just wish SEO was a little easier (in general), I'm still struggling with it. Thanks for you insights.

Zorro, without there being mention to it, I just jumped to that conclusion the automapping problem wouldn't be solved in his first release... But as the list above is a list of examples they want to deal with, hopefully they will deal with the issue in the first release. In any case I'm sure it will be dealt with in due time, and hope that as you metioned, he has the solution laid out before him already! :-)

GWP, what makes you think so? I would suppose that Richard is very well aware of the importance of automapping and probably has the solution already laid out before him. :-) Kind regards, Zorro

Glad to hear that the SEO patch will be improved in 1.5. It's great that Richard is working on a component for the new release. Nevertheless, it doesn't sound like any of these will solve the automapping problem, which is a disappointment. From the SEO point of view, everything still seems to be encouraging us to develop in 1.13 rather than 1.5...
