The site was developed by Fotis and the Joomlaworks.gr team, under the guise of their main company Komrade.gr.

Have to say that I personally couldn't tell at all that they are running Joomla! I love it when sites actually manage to manipulate Joomla to truly do what they want. The Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin looks great, as it always does more-a-less wherever it's used!

Do you know what sort of hardware infrastructure is being used? How many servers etc.

Hi Mark

Just one server from what Fotis told me, although they aren't responsible for the hosting side of things. I would presume a lot of caching is going on, plus there aren't any logged in users to worry about and videos are hosted off the server.

The site is hosted on a cluster not a single server (as we've been informed).

We use Joomla's internal caching system which responds very well, given that it's quite a "heavy site". smilies/wink.gif

Given that Joomla's been around for a couple of years now, I hope we see more "big companies" using it as their platform of choice.
No SEF?

Amazed they have no SEF implemented at all :-
Surely would help users and SEO through-out the site navigation?

So TNA's site is joomla based? Then why do they not update their site quite too often? Laziness?

LOL! Probably! Joomla can't do the updates, they actually need to do it themselves!
