See Your Site As Google Does

I recently came across a cool SEO tool:

http://www.seo-browser.com

SEO-Browser.com displays a website the way search engines view your site.  The site is displayed with all images and formatting removed, leaving just the links, headings, and text.

Viewing a website the way the search engines do reminds us of and enforces the key elements of SEO.  

I have used this tool to show clients how their web site looks to the search engines.  Seeing your site as simply text demonstrates how important relevant text is.

In the upper right hand corner of SEO browser tool, analysis mode can be switched from "Simple" described above, to "Advanced".  In advanced mode the meta data, page load time, external links and number of words in the body are displayed .

Viewing your site in this manner may expose some areas of your website that can be improved and in turn improve your rankings.

Thanks indeed Steven. I used to use the Web Developer toolbar on Firefox to achieve the same effect, but this is much easier.

Hi Guido - I did and it looked like a really interesting idea. It seemed to be little inaccurate but it certainly is good to get a general idea of a sites ranking quickly.

Great tool find. I had been trying to get some program Google suggests to work but never could. Probably because it ran in DOS. This is a great alternative.

Neeat, love this! Especially since special characters sometimes are seen differently if you compare with a regular browser and google. Some sites look like a real mess in this tool and probably the same by google...
