Cable and Wireless Run Joomla 1.5

Cable and WirelessBack in June we made a list of all the major companies that we could find with Joomla websites. We found firms such as Avis, Danone, Mistubishi, Olympus, Porsche, Sprint, Toshiba, Vodafone and Yamaha.

Here's one thats even bigger: Cable and Wireless's main corporate site, CW.com. Its a very simple, professional Joomla 1.5 with only XMap as a visible extension.

CW goes back to the 1860s and was the first company to break British Telecom's phone monopoly in the U.K. Its the main phone provider in many former British colonies and its a member of the FTSE 100 Index, making it one of the U.K.'s most highly capitalised public companies.

Clean, simple and looking great.

Btw, a few unusual things are: all of their keyword and description texts are set to "0". Also their robots file is blocking all search engine from crawling.

Hi Steve,

Here's one thats even bigger: Cable and Wireless's main corporate site
Not to be picky, or just that Danone is French, but Danone is roughly 2.5 times bigger than CW (by revenue : 5 b€ vs 12.5 b€, capitalisation have about the same ratio)
:)

Hey Eddie - you're right, there's a few odd things about the site. I presume its mainly for investors rather than customers.

Hi Yannick - you're right! I've done a couple of talks now using the company list and I've always introduced Danone as the largest Joomla user. I've corrected the article text above.

Well, here's a semi-well known company (not as big): Schrader Bridgeport, makers of the Schrader tire valve on your car tire: http://www.schrader-bridgeport.com/
