BestofJoomla Huge New Relaunch
Written by Steve Burge

BestofJoomlaThe main Fireboard site went offline yesterday, promising a relaunch.

Boy, did they deliver ... !

Some of the New Site Highlights

The date on some of the new articles is 19 September and so this relaunch must have been several months in the planning. I found at least five new components and several others that have been heavily modified.

Its an very impressive revamp that was handled remarkably smoothly. Best of luck, Best of Joomla!

Their template directory is excellent. Seems to have a broad selection and they have a nice way of diplaying them altogether. Great work. I guess they are gonna be brining in quite a lot of referral earnings!

Their new forum template is amazing too! I love it. The two views they use on the forum are also a great idea, I hope that makes it into the next release.

Tom.

The new site really looks cool and I enjoy the new features. However, they forgot the language specific support child boards in the forum  It should have been the time to convert to UTF-8 encoding, and they missed it.

Recently was published the Tutorials (extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3595/Itemid,35/) component at Joomla4 Extensions Directory. The title of the component may be deceptive, it's a Digg/Pligg like system implemented for Joomla!. Onlie demo is available here (www.nsorg.com/index.php/photoshop/).

I agree that the Tutorials component is misnamed ... from what it looks like, I'd rather call it a link directory.

Kind regards,
Zorro

Ah - wonderful, thanks Jozsef.

The demo (http://www.nsorg.com/index.php/photoshop/) looks so similiar to Pligg, but its great to see that its a GPL Joomla component.
